There are many homemade treatment options, things that you can just find right in your kitchen. You’ll be surprised to read this. But toothpaste is considered as a great treatment for acne. Just make sure that you use toothpaste that contains mint ingredients.
Get your toothpaste. Make sure that it is not flavored to avoid possible irritants and harsh ingredients. You must only use toothpaste that has mint as main ingredient. It is also important that the toothpaste is recommended by dentists and free of any harmful chemicals and whatnot.
When you already have the toothpaste, just get a little piece of it using your finger and dab it gently on the acne. Make sure that you have washed your hands thoroughly to prevent transfer of bacteria and germs. Cover the acne completely and the surrounding areas.
If you have large acnes, but not too many, you can put some adhesive bandage. Make sure that you cover all the acnes. However, if you have plenty of acne, you should not include this part, as it is really not that necessary in the process. This only works for those with mild acne breakout.
To make sure that the toothpaste is really taking effect, let it sit on the acnes for at least two hours. You will feel a cool sensation on your face, especially on the acne areas. This is due to the mint ingredients of the toothpaste. The toothpaste will also become crusty.
After letting the toothpaste sit on your skin for two hours, you can then remove the bandages; that is, if you put some bandages. You should then wash your face gently to get rid of the toothpastes. Make sure that you use mild soap. For better effect, use warm water. To finish off the treatment, you should then pat on your face with a soft towel. Make sure that it’s clean in order to prevent transfer of germs and bacteria.
Do this at least once a day, especially early in the morning or before going to bed. Observe the effects of the treatment for at least two weeks. If the symptoms have not been lessened by then, stop using the toothpaste.
